Merseyside isn’t’ doing enough for our LGBTQ+ community. Ongoing discrimination and violence – stemming from intolerance and marginalisation – continues to have an impact on the lives of LGBTQ people across the region.
LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing inequalities are significant, LGBTQ+ hate crime and hate speech are on the rise, and local queer culture continues to be underfunded. LGBTQ+ visibility (where it matters) is waning. There are numerous barriers to equity and opportunity for LGBTQ people and their families.
At Sahir House, we have a clear vision, a driving passion for our mission and a belief in our values to deliver services that will guarantee better sexual health and wellness for all and serve the needs of LGBTQ+ people across Merseyside – but we need your help to raise the vital funds we need to make our goals a reality!
It’s an extremely worrying time for Sahir House and the people we serve. We’ve seen a dramatic rise in people seeking our help and advice during a time when our critical fundraising efforts have been severely hampered. Having very recently lost our single largest source of funding in one fell swoop, we now find ourselves in urgent need of your help.
How much you give is not as important as where the money goes – all donations, big and small, have a tangible impact on the lives of our service users.
